Hello and welcome again to Provelistic entertainment. Even if it's your first time that's fine... I am your host Proveli Van Paragon,
I came across the status of a young talented rock star I had the privilege of meeting a few times while I was in Canada.(The red limit" at the time) Greg Mathews had a very interesting question that sparked some interesting answers.
Greg.
What is the best advice you would give new musicians breaking through the mold?
Never lose your identity - always keep the integrity of your product stand behind it - never follow the trend - learn how to properly brand and market your product - and always make sure you are fully aware of what is going on at all times to ensure that you are in control of your identifier - that is all
Francisco Arturo Romero Jr losing a part of the ego that makes you selfish and become more realistic and in tune with the audience. same thing i tell dj's. you need ego, cause thats character. and you have to please your audience, not please yourself. the stage is right in front of you. so many times i see dj's dancing with a feeling while the audience just stands there not feeling it.
Naomi Carmack No matter how many times someone feeds your ego with compliments, send out the same to another. No matter how much God given talent you have, you are no better than anyone else. And ALWAYS listen to a soundman who's 20 years older than you. He knows what the fuck he's doing.

Shaun O'Neil being popular and understood today will only mean your work will be that much closer to meaningless tomorrow. its the ones that break the mold and choose their art over popularity and success that will have their creations that will live on - look at all the greats... they were never appreciated in their own time as they are today...
